Apprenticeships

The new Apprenticeship Frameworks currently on offer through Halifax Opportunities Trust enable those over the age of 19, yes that is right - those who may have experienced being 21 several times! -  to apply to undertake a qualification as part of an adult  apprenticeship framework.
Although our current offering is centred around Childcare and Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, we will be expanding our portfolio of qualifications and apprenticeships over the coming months, so if we do not cover your sector yet - then please get in touch to check when we are planning to introduce your sector.

How does the new Apprenticeship programme work?

Our current Apprenticeship recruitment programme is aimed at those who are currently in employment, working at least 16 hours each week, and looking to achieve level 3 qualifications.
If you are not employed, but are seeking work then please see below to read about our “Job Shop”.

We are proud to deliver the New Apprenticeship Frameworks at level 3 which include Functional Skills at level 2 in Maths, English and IT, all being delivered in an embedded approach within your chosen area of work.

Job shop

If you are not currently in employment then perhaps our Job Shop team can help.
We have dedicated staff whose role it is to find employment for the clients of the Halifax Opportunities Trust Job Shop. This is not only reserved for someone considering an apprenticeship but for a host of vacancies.
Our Job Shop offers a unique service. We visit local employers to find out their employment needs and work with them to match them with our clients. We do not charge either the companies or clients for any the services we offer therefore we do not try to put unsuitable clients into unsuitable job roles.
If a client needs help or training to help secure that job then maybe our training department can help.
Should we be unable to help we work in partnership with other providers to hopefully meet the individual’s needs.
